About Me
I am honored by my clients’ confidence to share their life’s challenges and triumphs. Each person is in a different place on their life journey towards wellbeing. A specialized custom approach designed to address a person’s needs is required for each individual. Everyone has within them the ability to move forward towards a happier heathy life.
My modality of therapy is Motivational Interviewing (MI). This is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with attention towards positive change. I seek to strengthen personal motivation for a commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring each individual’s reasons for change in an environment of acceptance and non-judgement. Helping people towards healthier and happier lives is more than a profession, it is my passion. I have had great results with this strengths-based approach.
My areas of strength as a therapist are relationships and addiction. I also address depression and anxiety although I have found that these can often be the result of unhealthy relationships or excessive use of drugs and alcohol. There is clinical depression and anxiety which requires medication, but my approach is to refer to a prescriber as a last resort. Remote Telehealth sessions available.
